To all of you, Happy 4th of July!

After 10 years (Yes this site is ten years old today!), you will soon be able to see some changes on this website. As you know, I am maintaining two sites : this one only in English and www.laonnois.com both in French and in English, and many posts have to be published onto the two sites. So, I am preparing to merge the two in only one ; when that will be done, www.laonafb.com will be the English version and www.laonnois.com will be the French version. It is a big work and it will take several weeks more, so please be patient.

In a few weeks, also, I will at last publish a DVD about the old LAON Air Base. This DVD will contain many documents and photos. If you have such documents or pictures from the time you were stationed at Laon Air Base, and if they are copyright free, it is still time to send them to me and I thank you in advance.
Selling this DVD will help me with the cost of hosting for this website.

Many vets and dependents came back to Laon during this first half of 2011. More than 20!
It is always a great pleasure to receive you, to get for you permission to visit the old base and to take you to a tour of Laon and area.

E-mails : Please let me know when you change your e-mail address. Too many of my mails are still returned as "undeliverable".
Also, as I wrote previously, many of my (collective or individual) messages are returned to me as "spam" with the mention "blocked for abuse" by several providers, so that I can no longer reach several of you. Some providers don't let yourself decide what is good for you to receive or not...!
In some cases, you can avoid this blocking by adding my mail address to your authorized list.
So, the only solution I found is to post now my collective messages onto this page.
Of course, to get them you will have to visit this website.

Remember : The base is going to be definitely left by the French Army on July 2012 and will be totally dismantled. If you want to see it again, do not wait !
And do not forget that I can help you to organize your trip and your staying and, for as long as it is still possible, the visit of the base.
